West Gallery
The West Gallery tells the story of the Jewish Community & Contributions. Through a series of interpretive panels, artifact cases and multimedia we explore the history. An interactive map will show you the various Jewish neighborhoods that grew in the city and greater Western New York region. Stories about strength and resilience will be sprinkled in with statistics and general information. We will also explore themes of Buffalo and the city's response to World War II.
"TELL US YOUR STORY" is a project that entails capturing and recording individual stories by the Jewish Museum of Buffalo's visitors. This interactive experience will be enhanced by a phone booth-style mechanism that is installed and easy to use by each unique visitor.
Visitors will easily relay their own narrative as it relates to the community in a private environment. After each story is vetted and screened, each story will show up on another exhibit where visitors can play the various entries. This ever-changing exhibit will drive repeat visitation and tie into the Jewish Genealogy Center.
