Hallway Gallery
In the hallway connecting the meeting room and the East and West galleries there is a gallery of artwork by well known mid-century artists. Temple Beth Zion's art collection represents both Buffalo-based and internationally recognized artists working in a number of mediums and styles. The collection emerged as a major collecting focus of the formal art committee in the 1980s, with the collection growing in scope over the years.
The extensive art collection includes works by artists including Israeli Sculptor Yaacov Agam, German-American Painter Wolf Kahn, American Artist Ben Shahn, and Salvador Dali, along with many well recognized regional artists, including Harvey Breverman, Seymour Drumlevitch, and Charles Burchfield.
The current gallery collection was curated with the support of the Burchfield Penney Art Center, and includes QR Codes on pieces directing visitors to the Burchfield Penney and other gallery's collections for a particular artist.
